Is There a Difference Between Misting and Fogging?

The key difference between misting and fogging is that misting treats individual surfaces whereas fogging treats the entire area. This is down to how the mist is controlled when it is dispersed. Fogging doesn’t have the same level of accuracy as misting; however, it is helpful when targeting specific area cleaning.

Is Misting/Fogging Effective Treatment for Covid-19?

In indoor spaces, misting/fogging treatment is not recommended in the environmental treatment of Covid-19. One study has shown that spraying as a primary disinfection strategy does not remove contaminants outside of the direct spray zone. However, if you’d like to receive comprehensive Covid-19 treatment for your premises, we can facilitate this for you.

Can I Clean Electronics with Misting or Fogging?

Typically misting is dry and has a very short contact time. Misting is perfectly safe when used to clean electronics, including scientific and medical equipment. Fogging is not recommended for cleaning electronics. When fogging comes into contact with electronic equipment, such as keyboards or monitors, it leaves a residue. If not removed, this residue can cause electronic equipment to malfunction.

Is Misting or Fogging Toxic?

One of the most significant drawbacks of misting or fogging is that any chemical disinfectants dispersed remain in the air for a significant period of time and if inhaled, they can cause damage.

However, Hydrogen Peroxide (iHPTM) or ionised hydrogen peroxide is a non-caustic, chlorine and bleach-free fog which doesn’t linger in the air and is therefore 100% safe to use.
